They’re in front of an open window with a breeze, I guess that’s not enough, thanks Tony, I’ll be more hands on!

Any advice to control bolting in lettuce plants? Mine did very well for a few weeks then took off north. Do I need to adjust the light and water cycles after the plants are established? I am on 15 minutes per hour water cycle and 12 hour on/ off light cycle that comes on around sunrise.
I am wondering what temperature your plants are at. When I did mine it was over the winter and the window was in the 60’s deg F and it was a big south facing window. Temperature may be a big factor.

My lighting setup is pretty simple. Its an extension cord with a plug in socket at the end and 3 clamp on sockets spaced at each plant bottle level. The clamp sockets are easy to install you just separate the plastic coated wires at the point you install the socket and you screw the back back on over the wires. Home depot has these and they self tap into the wire so there is no involved splicing of the wires. They can show you how they work.

Hello all, I experimented with cutting two holes in each bottle and planting 2 or more plants in each bottle. The Romaine and Butter Crunch lettuce is doing great (2 to 3 per bottle), the Arugula (Easily 8 to 12 seedling plants per bottle ) pretty well and my transplanted Alpine Strawberries are living but with [...]

Hi Miki,
I run my system on a timer for 15 minutes every hour and my newish plants (about 2 weeks old) are responding very well. Hope that helps

Yes, I imagine my printer somehow distorted the template even though I thought it was set correctly. I just punched holes on the opposite sides of the the bottle and it seems to be working fine in the suspension. Thanks

I printed the template unscaled and when I place it around the bottle the holes are not on opposite sides. they wrap further around and appear too close together. Is this correct or any thoughts as to why the template seems off? Should I just eyeball where the holes should be? Thanks

Looks great and healthy! I think I’m going to do an 8 plant bottle v3 system with two plants in each container of different salad greens and stagger them and see how much that comes to.

Thanks Owen. Do you think leaf varieties rather than heads would yield more continuously?

How many plants does it take to grow say 7 salads a week for 2 adults?

What are you doing to pollinate them? I have tried doing nothing to see what happens and not much happens. Best case you might get some malformed berries. I tried a fan in the area and this did not help much, so now I use a q-tip to move pollen around to all flowers and this works good.
