Thanks. I really wanted the setup to be as neat and tidy as possible as it would be very visible for all my neighbours. The plants became more than messy enoughs themselves.

For the airlift I only use the black tube. The transparent ones were clogged with algae within a few months. I also had some challenges with the airlift. Those are clay pellets. They are manufactured by Leca in Norway and are called lecakuler.

I have made a timelapse video of my windowfarm so far. Since the last update I have added another 8 pot zig-zag column. I have also raised the reservoir another 20 cm to get the airlift working better when the water level is low.

Stilig. Veit du kva det er den måler ppm av? Regnar med den måler konsentrasjonen av eit visst stoff, eller ei gruppe av næringsstoff i vatnet.
Eg har ikkje lest meg opp på ppm eller ph som trengs for å få gode tomatar. Har du eit utdrag av konklusjonen som du kan presentere her?

Any thoughts on having fish in a tank like this. The volume should be more than sufficient, but they might require more light?

I kassene er det god gamaldags jord. Med ulltrådar ned i vatnet for å få opp vatn. Vurderar å prøve ei kasse full med leca og setje den under utløpet av ei eller to kolonner. Det hadde og vore veldig artig med fisk, men dei vil vel ikkje trivst så godt i ein tank utan lys. Med mindre det er djupvatnsfisk som ikkje treng så mykje lys.

The matchsticks hold the pots on the wire. Wire goes through a hole in the pot, two turns around the match and back out. Maybe not an optimal solution, I am considering to replace the wire with a chain and use hooks instead of matches. The blue tube is quite rigid and makes a good [...]

I have an idea to add some nettle-plants soaking in the reservoir to add nutrients. They are rich in nitrogen and I guess they will dissolve the nutrients into the water over time.
