Built my system but air lift isn’t working. Bubbles don’t escape out of wholes where inserting tubes are, however….
What does occur is water gets x part of the way up then bubble passes water, water falls back down tube, or air sometimes just blows out bottom of tube, and have tried various speed settings.
Not sure what to do.

I am having difficulty navigating the site to find the information I need, and have several questions.
- Is there a species of lettuce which matures for harvest faster than 30 – 45 days?
- What is the size of organic lettuce vs. commercially grown?
- How many slots/bottles would I need in my window farm to have a small bowl of salad 3x a week?
- optimal harvesting practices/does can proper harvest technique allow lettuce plant to survive and regrow without replanting?Sorry I know these are very generic, and your thinking this guy is so new and newbish and should just take his lazy ass and look it up. but without knowing much at all I really don’t know where to look for information on this sort of stuff.
Any help is appreciated, please be kind,
Cody
http://usagardener.com/how_to_grow_vegetables/how_to_grow_lettuce_leaf.php is a great lettuce info site. I don’t see any real short cycle species but a good seed catalog might have more info. Having young plants every couple of weeks might lower the speed requirement.
Lettuce is lettuce: organic or not. What you will find from growing inside is no insects, little disease, slightly faster growing if the temp is well regulated for what they need, no bolting, etc.
Just figure one small head or flower every 50 days and divide and multiply accordingly to get bowls per week.
Lettuce leaves will not, if my memory serves me well, regrow from the base. It can be harvested from one head over several days but I think a better choice would be to harvest the head and transplant in a new one from a starter bed to keep things moving.
Welcome aboard. I applaud anyone who actually has the motivation to do this. If everyone did it would take a huge pressure off the highways and gasoline stations.

adjust every parameter you can imagine until it works.
