Is is on all the time, half on/off, or what?

i also had problems finding the ‘kuritec” tube after going to 3 hardware stores (2 specialty and 1 home depot). no one ever knew what i was talking about. I used a regular vinyl tube, but the lack of rigidity is supppppeeeeerrrr annoying. i’ll replace it eventually… or rig it. ha.

my air pump is working better today. i adjusted the hoses slightly. i’m still evaluating a cleaner way of designing the structure. after almost 8 yrs of set design and construction, i think i can handle this. after the MS150 this weekend of course.

my thoughts on the ”easiest” system and instruction manual.
a. i spent well over 20 bucks. mostly on hydroponic stuff and the air pump. i was not pleased that my budget had to be ridiculously adjusted.
b. the tube are not posted on the pdf instructions. i think one of the tube lengths is mentioned in the instructions, but then the OD/IDs are switched.
c. i couldn’t freaking find kuritec reinforced tubing.
d. there has got to be a better way to cut out the bottom holes. -

wow… i just realized i wrote ”hear” instead of ”here”. haha…
yeah, we’ve got one too. our lettuce, herbs, and onions grow like weeds, but we’ve had problems with critters getting to our tomatoes, so i’m transplanting those for indoors. what grows best for you?
soil > windowfarming when it comes to noise!

I’ll take a look at it when I get home tonight for sure. I appreciate the stats!

Hey, guys, I have some extra starter cubes that I bought from the Texas Hydroponics shop in Houston. Let me know if you guys would like a few. I certainly can’t get through them all!
In reply to - Hector Gonzalez posted an update in the group Austin, TX & Surrounding Area : I found that http://www.texashydroponics.com/ could be a good place to buy some of the materials. They have the clay pellets at $12.99 for a 20 lbs bag and the tree bark starter cubes at $15.99 for 3 lbs. I was wondering if someone would like [...] · View -
i just set up the basic window farm last night. i’m not happy with the pump situation, so i’m going to be researching new design ideas. is anyone hear doing backyard gardening in conjunction with this?
If you want to stick with an air lift pump, here is what I designed. I would be interested in any feedback if you try it. http://our.windowfarms.org/2010/04/11/alternate-air-pump-performance-data/

hey marissa! i’ve been working on setting up a backyard garden for a while now… battling weeds and ivy is the main deterrent. but it is much quieter than my windowfarm

hey marissa~
i just planted eggplant and bell peppers in my backyard… we’ll see what comes of it. in the past i’ve only grown herbs: rosemary, mint, parsley, and basil, which have all done well.

i’ll post detailed comments on the problems we had with instructions later tonight.

thanks! i wish i had checked my replies last night. ha. i’m sure i’ll have to do it again though, so i’ll keep it in mind for next time.

i’ve finished one bottom hole. badly. time to explore the drill options.

i’ve relearned to curse thanks to this bottle cutting.

cutting the bottoms out of the bottles = not as easy as it seems. our exact-o-knives and razor blade things aren’t working…
