We put it together this weekend. We weren’t sure if there was enough flow coming out at the top of three bottles, so we just used two, which is fine since I’m not sure if there’s enough room in our kitchen window for another one.

The guy at the hydroponics store recommended a different nutrient than Sugar Peak, so we went with his suggestion. It was $30 a bottle, but since it only needs 6 tsp for a gallon of water, I think it will last us a long time. They also didn’t have any hydroton in anything smaller than a 10 liter bag, so we’ve got a lot of that to spare as well.

We got our pump at Wal-Mart (more of them in Texas than there are PetCo, and I think the pump was cheaper there), so it’s not the one recommended, but another 2-output pump. It’s an Aqua Culture pump for 20-60 gallon tanks, and it came with 2 one-way valves.
