Thanks, we run the pump for 15 min every hour during the day and 15 min every two hours at night. The bottles are from hummingbird feeders we bought at the dollar store, cut them up and painted them.

Nice. Though you may want to black out the holding tank to prevent algae build up.

Simpler solution for off-grid would be using solar and a 12volt pump. Use a deep cell battery and a overcharge mechanism.

You could do a version 1 farm with a water pump, but the nutrients need to be swapped or adjusted roughly every 2 weeks.
You could try setting up an aquaponics type setup with fish and use long term nutrients perhaps?

There is no issue as long as the a/c is not blowing on the plants.

Dry the mint out for later uses.

I found Home Depot and Canadian tire the places to visit for most of the equipment I needed for my V1 and V3 farms.
Aquarium stores and Hydroponic supply stores for the rest of the equipment.

There is no easy way to make your own nutrients. Home made nutrients are typically fish waste from aquaponics setups, or worm tea from composting.

Basil and Lettuce grow really fast and easily.

Where is the problem? At the top? Or the bottom of the bottles?

I have seen this happen as a result of water temperature. I had this happen when I added cold water into the system but it went away after the water became room temp. You could have a pH problem as well. You may need to get a tester. The nutrients could also be too strong. [...]

70+ is fine as long as your heat source is not directed at the windowfarm. Maybe have a fan circulating air around the window for good measure.

All types of herbs work in the farm. I don’t know of one that has failed so far.
