Dude, I feel your pain. I had the same problem. I started cilantro, tomatoes, and mustard lettuce from seed. They all started well, I followed thorough applications, and then eventually they started to die. Then, I went out and bought starter plants. They’re looking great so far. It’s been a while. Those first plants I had, died. However, I just picked up some starter plants from Fifth Season Gardening Co. Lettuce, Tomatoes, and bell peppers. Yeah, even though our buildings are white and that reflects some sunlight aside the actual sunlight that hits the window I think I need a small CFL or whatever recommended. Big question. Oh, and all I have so far is the video I posted(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYf_KX0Pp3I) . I don’t have a good camera for pictures and the camera on my phone sucks booty. I probably won’t record another video update until after I’ve gotten my PH meter and timer, and my veggies looking better(maybe next week).

This is what I have so far. I started from seed. They are sprouting well, except the cilantro which hasn’t yet. I just added the correct amount of nutrients to the reservoir for a gallon tank(this is after first week of constant water circulation). What do I do now? Do I keep the pump on? [...]
