hey, thanks! I will try that, and maybe keep this one as a remembrance of the good old days, รก la “we hiked three miles uphill to school through the snow barefoot, and four miles uphill back home in the dark… and we liked it!”

This is another part of the website I can’t access. The browsers I’ve tried are Safari and Firefox, and I’m running OSX 10.6. Any suggestions for other browsers? I have boring meetings all day so looking busy while downloading software shouldn’t be a problem…

Yes, Tony it has been frustrating, but at least I can see what others are doing. Thanks again for looking at the situation, and your original post should be most helpful for other folks.

Thanks for the step-by-step, it looks very thorough. My problem from the beginning is that I get nothing from hovering over My Blogs, no dropdown, nada. Hovering works fine for all the other options in the grey bar, but My Blogs is a dud for me. If I click on My Blogs it just takes [...]

Any bottles without a ”waist” to hold up the rim of the net pot can still be used. I just punched holes aligned in the pot and the bottle and inserted a bamboo skewer to hold it up.

JoDee Stringham commented on the blog post New Ideas for Root Covers? 1 year, 8 months ago · View
I used spray Plasti-Dip in white but it took several coats. It’s pretty opaque, lays down a nice texture and is easy to write on if you wish. It also comes in primary colors and black (which I almost tried but then realized that would cook the delicate roots). My plants have only been in [...]

This sound super-cool! Unfortch I don’t have any knowledge of aquaponics that would help but surely someone here will be able to advise. I will be rooting for your success and watching for updates.

I was told by the folks at the hydroponics place that tap is fine.
In reply to - Eric commented on the blog post My first airlift system I’ll be sure to change out the water then. Another question, is tap water fine for hydroponic growing? Or should I use distilled water? · View -
JoDee Stringham commented on the blog post Challenge: How to safely drill a 1″ diam hole through the end of a bottle? 1 year, 8 months ago · View
Filling the bottles about 3/4 with water and freezing worked really well for me. Don’t fill them all the way because the water expands when frozen. I also used my electric soldering iron to melt a small pilot hole, you could drill one instead but melting was faster (and produced a satisfying *pop* when interacting [...]
