hi joanna, you should enter your science curriculum in the WF contest. You can win a WF for your classroom. I posted the link in a post above and it is on the windowfarms.org site under contest. If you can’t find the link, let me know and I will post it for for you.

In reply to - janet posted an update in the group Teaching: hello everyone. I am currently working on building my thesis around reducing Childhood obesity through the education of healthy eating from classroom gardens and farms. If you have a WF in your classroom in nyc, brooklyn and/or queens, I would love to come and visit. Thanks! · View -
Everyone should enter the WF curriculum contest. People mentioned some really great ideas to using Windowfarms in education. Now you can enter your curriculum for a chance to win a WF. Check out the link for more info http://www.windowfarms.org/classrooms

Thanks! That’s great! Good luck with your thesis, I hope someone out there can help you out!
And thanks for sharing that link, I am sure a number of science teachers will find it very useful.thanks James… You should definitely enter the curriculum contest
Though I do have a number of ideas I hope to develop and share with the community over the next months, I personally do not need the competitive incentive, and feel it would be unfair to put myself in the running, since I am not yet established in a school system. I like to think this contest is really for the kids, so they are the ones that should end up with a farm in the classroom asap, which I am not currently able to provide… But I encourage EVERYONE who is in a classroom to put on their thinking caps and go for the gold, even if you don’t win, try to scrounge some funding together for a farm to put the great ideas I know you all will come up with into action!
Hi Janet,
I am very interested in the prospect of finding a WF in NYC in a classroom environment. Have you had any luck? I’d love to know about a working site to visit.
Thanks

Our organization takes great pride in offering only the best varieties from our extensive collection of over 24,000 heirloom vegetables.”
You should check out the site. Here is the link http://www.seedsavers.org/Items.aspx?hierId=8
