sorry, one more thing…paula, make sure your pump is pumping enough water to keep the plants root system saturated. if your plants roots dry out, they will definitely die. good luck :)

In reply to - Windowfarms commented on the blog post To buy a new windowfarm go to windowfarms.org Yes, They work for strawberries, depending on your light and the particular variety of strarwberry seeds. I would consider strawberries a little more advanced, not a starter plant unless you are already a gardener. You might want to start with greens until you [...] · View

thanks for your input. i will definitely keep you guys updated and let you know if it makes much of a difference temperature-wise (in a negative way). if it doesn’t, i expect it to do plenty of good for my plants!!

I was thinking about ways to increase the sunlight that my plants got and I came across these cheap and effective curtains that not only reflect the light back at the plants, but hey also keep your house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.  Let me know what you think. :)    http://www.wdrake.com/WalterDrake/Shopping/ProductDetail.aspx?CollectionID=DC0000359&ICMP=Search&SourceCode=20620000000&mr:trackingCode=487DF7A7-CDB9-DE11-93DB-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA
