For how long? an hour, two?

In reply to - Eric commented on the blog post The Sanders Farm Awesome job! I really like the trellis. Question- Is the pump off during the night? I’m trying to figure out my watering schedule and I’m not really sure how wet things need to be. I’m growing peas, oregano and freckled lettuce. Thanks from across the bay! [...] · View

Thanks so much for your help! I was definitely overwatering. My leaves have a white material on them that looks kind of looks like a spiderweb. I’m getting used to how moist the bay area air is, I don’t think my pot has ever started to dry out. I will adjust my watering schedule accordingly. [...]

Over-watering is a very common problem. Things don’t need to be that wet. I run my pump ONCE per day when the plants are young.

Greetings, just started my own windowfarm from scratch! Plant It Earth on Divisadero is an awesome resource- very knowledgable and helpful. I’ve got one oregano starter already in the system and I’m growing freckled lettuce and peas from seed in soil then transplanting them. I live in the sunset and my window faces east so I hope I get enough light! Fun project, excited to hear more about what’s working for people.
