I’ve got one bottle of pH down to make nutrient solution more acidic. It is composed of to acids : nitric (with Nitrogen) and phosphoric (with Phosphor) acids. Nitrogen and Phosphor seem to be elements plants need to grow or bloom.

My guess is that chemical components that stay in the nutrient solution (and don’t get used by the plant, like acetic acid) may alter the EC and prevent the plant from absorbing the ones it needs.

    (my 2¢)

    Hi guys!
I read somewhere that the use of vinegar to lower the pH is not that good because plants don’t know to absorb acetic acid. The result is that acid getting more and more concentrated in the nutrient solution, which may become hurtful for the plant.

Please forget my comment above. I’ve just received the net pots I ordered. They are of 5cm diameter, which is too small to fit in ordinary bottles. Hopefully, I discovered a hydroponic shop near the place I live. They also sell online and ship in Europe and the world. Their website http://www.indoorgardens.fr/catalog/fr/pots-soucoupes-26/pots-panier-aero-178/pot-panier-hfy-3-1619.html (in french /-: [...]

    Hi, fellow Windowfarm!

I live in France and have just ordered some, on the net (via ebay) : http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220855666893&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

The seller claims to ship throughout the world. and it’s not expensive.

But having found many readings throughout the internet, I’m getting more and more convinced that a 10% compost tea solution is extremely concentrated. Particularly at this early this early stage of development of my plants. That may probably explain why my capucine leaves have begun to wither

    Hi windowfarmers!

I’m new in windowfarming and I’m not new in worm composting. So when I began my window farm (it’s almost a month now) I directly started using my compost tea as nutrient.

If someone has any experience to share or any advice to give about the concentration of the compost tea solution, it would be much appreciated. At this time, I began with a 10% compost tea solution. Is it enough or is it too much.

    Thanks in advance.

over-feeding is a MUCH more common problem than under-feeding. just saying…
