Hey, I’m brand new to the group and will take a long time to plan out and gather materials for my WF. I’ll use wine bottles and coir pots insteat of plastic pot nets. My friend is a metal worker and will create a daisy chain of spirals to hold the bottles. I think the glass will be easier to sanitize and longer lasting than the plastic, with less chance of contamination. What do you think?
sounds like a lovely idea !! ,,,,,,,, getting less and less happy with the soda bottles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL ! To bad I do not have an ironworker in the family !!! Wooooooo how about those beautiful glass balls from Mexico – - – - – maybe I can get some made special in Tonala, Jalisco, Mexico . . . . . that would be stricking !
Ok – - – - 2013 – maybe 2014 as I have another dozen projects up the sleeve…..
So, I was very interested in doing this in glass, per your suggestion, but how do you cut holes in the wine bottles?? Do you just use the top half of the bottle, or do you cut a hole in the bottom and a hole for the plant to grow out of? What tools do you use? I’m finding that cutting the holes is very difficult. Does anyone have any advice on this?
