In reply to - windowfarmnijmegen posted an update in the group Netherlands: Mijn windowfarm is up and running. · View -
He Ankie, cool dat ie werkt!

If I were you I’d start out with the net pots, they are harder to find then you would expact here in the Netherlands, I eventually bought them over here: http://www.eugrowshop.eu/nl/potten-kweekbakken/potten-rond/ the 7.5 cm ones fit perfectly in Bar le Duc koolzuurhoudend mineraalwater (van de flessen zonder koolzuur zijn de vernauwingen net iets kleiner, echt [...]

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has experience using ph buffers in there windowfarm? , see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffer_solution I know of a nutrient solution which uses ph buffer micro particles to stabelize the ph level but that one is fine tuned to grow weed, so it only has instructions for flowering plants and not for [...]

Hi Mikael, the plastic getting warmer, I’m not worried because 1) why start worriing now? and 2) reactions due to light are usually due to UV light since this type of light has more energy to start the reaction but the windowfarms are behind glass and since glas blocks UV light I’m not worried

Hi all, and especially people in the Netherlands, I have a question, do any of you know where to get the net pots? the electricity costs are insignificant indeed. but Brian, why do you say capilary cannot work? the internal fluid transport inside a plant works on capilary action and that’s limited to a hight of about 300 feat (giant redwoods)

ok, so an EC meter is what I’m looking for, thanks! I don’t think 4 gallon is excessive, I want to be able to leaf it alone for a couple of weeks without my plants dieing on me but indeed, completely replacing 4 gallon of nutrient solution every week would be excessive. About the net [...]

it’s an interresting idea altough the powercost is realy realy low, like 10 kwh per year. but still, using capilairies could eliminate this. you would ave to find realy thin tubing and use a different tube for each plant, basicly extending the root system which also works in a capilairy way. the thing I’d worry [...]
