Windowfarms Educational Value Testers
Public Group active 1 month, 1 week agoThis group is collecting evidence of the social impact windowfarming has as the movement grows. How can we measure the educational benefits of windowfarming and the extent to which the project positively impacts people’s understanding/appreciation of food and nutrition? A large part of the problem with retooling the food system is the education and public perception component. We just don’t know as much about where our food comes from and nutrition has gotten to be a very distant complicated topic compared to the way we might have understood it when we all grew our own. Hands-on “constructivist” learning has been shown to be most effective and the Windowfarms Project has people learn in just about the most hands-on constructivist way possible, but its also just fun and pretty. This group will document the educational impact of windowfarms.
