In search of the perfect Cultivars for windowfarming
Public Group active 3 months agoWe all probebly have kind of similar plants in our windowgardens: strawberry’s, some peppers, asorted herbes and maybe some tomato’s. But even still our windowfarms might differ a great deal from each other since all of those species have ten’s, honderd’s or even thousend’s of varieties (Cultivars) some more suiteble for hydrophonics then others.
So the aim of this group is to search together for the right Cultivars of different plants

In search of the perfect Cultivars for windowfarming: 9 months ago · ViewHello all! I am looking for nice cultivars and also to share seeds. I will be reading this group often. At the moment, I have so many dill seeds (more than 1000) that I am willing to give them away for free (I will pay shipping to Canada, otherwise you can send me a prepaid envelope) Or if you want to share some seeds you have in exchange, well, just send me a private message and we can organize this! Dill grows very easily in 4a region in soil and will grow up to 1 meter tall. I have no clue on how well it will do in a window farm, but it is a highly recommanded plant. It smells super good, taste very nice an makes an awesome yellow flower that reminds me of a mini firework.
Thank you Bram and Lizz for your links, I am looking at all of this to try to decide on what I will get. Keep us posted! -

In search of the perfect Cultivars for windowfarming: 10 months, 3 weeks ago · ViewI found myself something called a Tom Cherry. It’s only 8″/20 cm tall. I am guessing it’s the Micro Tom. Don’t know yet how it’s gonna fare in my window farm, but it’s a plant I’d definately recommend by size alone.

I don’t know yet how it will evolve but right now they are like half a foot high and they start to produce flowers so I hope they stay this small

In search of the perfect Cultivars for windowfarming: 11 months, 1 week ago · ViewThis is the mean reason I’ve started this group. I have cherry tomato’s in my windowfarm but I didn’t know they grow to be like 2 meter’s tall (I just picked a pack of seeds in a nearby market) so I’m thinking about switching to smaller varieties like: http://www.shootgardening.co.uk/plant/lycopersicon-esculentum-garden-pearl?referrer=%2Fplant%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dtomato%26amp%3Buser_force_login_register%3D or: http://www.shootgardening.co.uk/plant/lycopersicon-esculentum-tomatoberry?referrer=%2Fplant%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dtomato%26amp%3Buser_force_login_register%3D If you find other [...]
