Baltimore: 1 year, 8 months ago · ViewHello fellow Balmorians! I am excited about this and have started collecting (mainly freecycling) the parts to build my first windowfarm to grow some herbs (at the least) this winter. I would love to connect and even get together with you in person to discuss and even build a unit somewhere. Thanks!

Baltimore: 2 years ago · ViewHello all. I have done a summer container garden for the past three summers and have been trying to get a respectable year round indoor herb garden for a while. I just downloaded the basic DIY instructions, so we’ll see how this attempt goes.

Hi there! I’m a complete novice when it comes to gardening, but I started my first herb garden today.. unfortunately, in a pot.. When I move in July I’d like to start a windowfarm so I’ll be posting more then, but wanted to say hi now that I’ve joined and I’m doing my background research!

Baltimore: 2 years ago · ViewHello! I am a teacher at a small private school in Baltimore. My 3rd graders learn about the importance of farming in creating established civilizations. We start our year with nomads and soon realize by establishing farms people could settle in once place. I wish we had been window farming all year, but I didn’t find out about this until last night. I am hoping if I start their window garden now they can take it with them to 4th grade. I haven’t built my garden yet but I’ll let you know how it goes…or ”grows,” rather.
Hi Heather, How is your new windowfarm coming along? I think the students will get a great deal out of the experience.
hey Heather, Windowfarms is now looking to reach out to more teachers and schools and is now offering a windowfarms kit designed to better suit schools. If you havn’t already, I suggest joining the teaching group on this site as well, great resource to discuss possible curricula!

Well — I work on my own community garden here — http://mirkwoodestates.blogspot.com/
and I am excited to be learning about Hydroponics.Hi JJR, I have admired your community garden as I drive by it once in a whlie! I always wondered who’s it was. Now I know! I volunteer at HCC’s educational and community garden at Hamilton Elementary & Middle School. Are you or have you built a windowfarm? I would love to hear about it and see photos if so.
P.S. Did I recognize some WFM employees in your photos?
