Mold or Minerals?

Just started my first windowfarm. It has been running for about three weeks. In the past couple of days I started noticing white stuff on some of the pebbles. Is it mold or minerals? Should I do something about it?

Could be two things, either its mold or mineral salts from evaporated nutrient solution. Either happens often and not really that big a deal. You can pick them out, clean then and re-use them if you want. You could also flush the system with a weak solution of H2O2 (1 part H202 to 5 parts water) and see if that clears it up.
I am willing to bet its salts though, especially if your plants appear healthy
Most likely, the white stuff is simply salts from your nutrient solution. I’ve seen similar stuff on my lucky bamboo pots, and as the water level in those drop, I see the same white stuff.
What I would do is simply place them in a small amount of warm water, let the salts dissolve and then use that solution in your windowfarm.
