Sphagnum Seed Starter

I had some sphagnum moss leftover from some orchids. The moss is sold already dead. I started some basil and arugula seeds in the moss. The seeds did grow but if I didn’t move the seedlings into the window farm quickly then I think they would have died. I think soil is the best medium for starting seeds before window farm.
