Hi, I will like to know if anyone knows how to make a system of irrigation such that by using valves or other materials and a storage of rain water it can irrigate the plants while I am not home. If anyone knows of websites that might help me I will appreciate it.
this no problem,. a little pump with volt12 a akku to load from power or solar,. a pipe line with 4 or 5 mm and over the plants in the pipe line holes with 1 or 2 mm to make a hole,. then is come when the pump run water of the plats,. look how to ling is good and install for the pump a counter swatch for the pume he is run then minutes 15 or 30 minutes,. it is the a automatic system,.
I have started a “pallet garden” which does pretty much what you want to do. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL00C41C26C91A76BB&feature=view_all It is just 14 days old so not much news yet.
It certainly seems to work. I used 3/16 inch tubing but 1/4 inch is probably better for what I am doing.
I have ended up putting masonry sand in the vertical part (Our soil contains just too much clay for that part) and I have about 4 inches of crushed dolomite lime at the very top. That should hopefully keep things from getting too acid. I will start a larger one soon. Brian
