This weekend I built two new columns to my windowfarm.
Unfortunately, I cut my left hand during the process. I’m not so clumsy, I’m something worse, a little lazy and impatient. Instead of taking it easy, do things slowly and getting good tools, I take what I have at home and then it might go like this (It is much deeper than it looks.) Be careful and use good tools.
A small update to my previous system is that I have found net pots that fit into my bottles. Or they fit once I cut away a bit. The seeds I planted less than a week ago has already begun to sprout. So it is high time to get the new columns ready.

@natalia Hi I have made a big goof and want share my experience – but I will post it when I can get things together and show how I worked the problem out. OH WELL ! ! ! – I also got a cut with my exacto knife early on. You do not sound clumsy to me, but learning new things can make you feel quite clumsy at first. I got your friendship request and I am so green with the computer I do not know how to accept it but it is comming – I’ll get my son to help me with that when he visits again. Brian White has some fantastic advise on the T lift, and his site has been a great help to me. I look forward to your experiwnce with those seeds that are sprouting and love those pics above. Sometimes I think I might put one of my columns on the hydroponic serup instead of the aquaponic setup that I am using now. Happy windowfarming. Sylvia
@sylviawoerner Then I´ll wait until your son helps you out with the friend request.
Your latest update looks fantastic! It will be fun to see the pictures later on.
I have looked on your and Brian’s solutions and I think I will try to test it myself this week. Long days at work have not yet given me time to buy tubing and T-connections. But tomorrow …
My friend has an aquarium which is currently empty. Sadly all there fish died recently. I am considering helping them build an aquaponic setup. I think their son would love it.
Why are you considering switching from the aquaponic to the hydroponic?
Hugs /natalia
@natalia Hi @@@@ At the present I am not planning on stopping my aquaponic lines.
My reason for making one line hydroponic is because there seems to be a definite iron deficiency in my system. This is common in aquaponic. I use goldfish because they are extremely hearty and can take lots af abuse, but some have died.
It is important to not feed the plants and fish with something which will kill them so I have been doing much research. If you want a more detailed description of what I have found I would be happy to correspond directly. My email is [ sylwoer@gmail.com ] Give me a message and I’ll go into more detail there. You might need 4 hands instead of 2 to get son John’s system working. Sylvia USA
