New windowfarm-using t-joints

I just built my first windowfarm! I have been reading about it for weeks now and I have finally put it together. I have used the t-joint to attach the reservoir to the pump and lift tube. I have also used a t-joint at the top to split the water from one tube into my two columns. Currently, the two columns are sharing one reservoir. I am using recycled water bottles, and as I don’t buy bottled water I get them from my friends and family so I take whatever size they have. I have two plants per 1.5 litre bottle, and one plant in each of the smaller bottles. It is early days but I have just bought a timer so the pump doesn’t have to run all the time. I will keep posting as the plants grow!

Hi Lesley
It looks good. I also took a while before I got mine up – study – study – study – and I am using a T joint. I love your big window. Happy windowfarming. Sylvia Woerner
Hi Lesley,
Great windowfarm! I have also been studying for weeks and just got my system up and running (no plants yet, still making sure the system works consistently). My design is very similar to yours, with a t-joint airlift and t-joint at the top to split the water flow for two columns. Did you have any trouble getting the water to flow evenly between the two columns? In my system, when the water splits at the top t-joint, it tends to only flow through one side. Did you encounter this, and if so, how did you fix it?
Thanks Sylvia.
@ Jennifer, I haven’t had any trouble with the water flow, the t joint at the top is not level but it seems to be working fine. I am about to put up another 2 columns and will let you know if it works out.
looking great, what do you grow? i think i see peas, any plans for future plants? what do you use as a nutrient source?
greetings
Hi Martin, I am growing lettuce, kale, peas, cucumber, arugula, cilantro, and I just put up a new column with a hot pepper and tomato plant. I have also started some dill and parsley, once they sprout i’ll add them. And yourself, what do you grow?
Currently I am using a foxfarm nutrient grow big. I haven’t yet purchased the foxfarm big bloom yet but I guess I should do that soon as the peas are growing quite fast. What type of nutrients do you use?
Amazing! T-joint on top is a very good idea. I’ll take it.
