Yes, They work for strawberries, depending on your light and the particular variety of strarwberry seeds. I would consider strawberries a little more advanced, not a starter plant unless you are already a gardener. You might want to start with greens until you get the hang of it and then progress to strawberries. You may also want to start with strawberry seedlings in dirt pots and transplant them in to the wndowfarm by shaking the dirt out of the roots very gently. This time of year, they will be very difficult to find but starting in February or March, they will be available at nurseries all over the place. We may also start selling strawberry seedlings in the store in the Spring and then your purchases will help fund the project.
Hey guys, just a quick suggestion to help cut down on the spam you guys get – require the first post of any new user to be approved by a moderator. It’ll be a bit more work for you guys when you sign on, but it’ll let you make sure it’s a real person and not someone trying to throw up links to Uggs or Gucci stuff. Many forums do this; sure it takes an extra day to get your post up, but it’ll cut down on the late night spam by an incredible amount. Just throwing it out there…
In response to those of you who have inquired about purchasing the windowfarms kits internationally, please note that we are working on it. Currently you cannot purchase windowfarm kits if you live outside of the US, but it is one of our top priorities to get international sales capabilities up and running in the very near future. Please keep checking back with us, and we promise to make a very public announcement when international sales begin!
Hi, I am about to buy the two Colum window farm and I am wondering if the kit includes 8oz of nutrients. On one part of the website they You say 8oz in included in every kit but it also says no nutrients are included.
Also I am a seasoned gardener but I am wondering if the window farm kit comes with directions on how to grow certain plants or should we use this website to figure such things out?
Sorry for any confusion. The Windowfarms kits do not include nutrients. Nutrients must be purchased separately. I just looked through the site and saw the page that erroneously stated that nutrients were included in every kit that you referenced. We are working to correct that mistake and take that language off the website now. Again, our apologies for the confusion. Thank you for your interest and support of Windowfarms and for catching our mistake!
Best,
Destiny

hi!! can i buy one kit if i live in mexico???
Wow, the price is actually pretty competitive. My own single column setup cost about the same to build than you’re charging for the single column.
Can I buy a kit of four in Italy?
