Petco Pump (9902) — Not Adjustable

I just ordered and received a Petco #9902 pump, unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be adjustable according to the website.

Unless I’m missing something, there are no knobs or dials to turn anywhere on this thing. The bottom of the device has the model number AC-9902. Not sure if this is the same thing as the instructions, but the link above is EXACTLY where I ordered it from.
Rather than argue with Petco, or try to find another pump, I’m simply going to find some inline control valves I can use in order to adjust the airflow. I’ll post my results (including pictures)!! Hopefully this will make any pump a good fit for this project.

Does the thing look like the picture?
They must have changed the product. The 9902′s used to look like the blue 9904′s and came with a dial, which is that round black knob on the top of the 9904. I think using an inline dial is fine, it’s probably not the best thing for your pump to leave it dialed way down for a long time, as that it may not be good for the pump. However, i bet you will only need to dial it down in very small increments.
The description still suggests a way to adjust the flow. The picture has a black valve or knob on the front. If this is where the air comes out, I am wondering if it also turns to act as an iris of sorts.
No dials on top of at the outlet. The only thing on the outlet is the nut that holds the outlet port in place, it is metal and not black plastic as the picture shows. It doesn’t turn.
The description does indeed say adjustable, it simply is not. I’ll bring it over to Petco today and see if they can figure out how to adjust it!
The instruction I found said petco 9903 That was not even in the stores
You could always add an inline valve to the air line.
