Are Bottle Support Holes Lined Up?
4:09 pm in Getting Started by Ed Backes
Hey guys, newbie with a quick question here.
I’m building my first window farm and when i wrap the template around the bottles the support holes aren’t across from one another. They’re a little closer than 180 degrees from each other. Is that how they’re supposed to be? Or is maybe my printer fudging the template a little.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

It could be the printer fudging it, the program you use to print it or anything… (Scaling error because of Paper size mismatch, scaling to fit margins and a lot of other problems)
Or it may be that the bottles you’e using isn’t the exact same type as the template was made for?
Anyway, just make certain the holes are directly opposite each other and you’ll be golden.
They indeed are NOT supposed to be 180 degrees apart — if they were, the chain would cut through the middle of the bottle and would get in the way of the cap of the feeder bottle above. I’d estimate they should be somewhere in the realm of 135 degrees apart.
They are not supposed to be 180 degrees apart for exactly the reason gramercypost mentions. We used to have them directly across from one another but the suspension would either get eaten away by the dripping or the cap flap would push back up and block the drip stream. That was a sort of V3.1 upgrade.
