For a close-up of the swivel rods installation, look at photo 4. At the bottom of photo 3 (this one), you can see that there is a small wooden rod, horizontally suspended at the last pot’s level. It’s there to prevent the pot from accidentally slamming into the window pane when I use the swivelling mechanism. Maybe I’ll need two rods, since my middle columns don’t end at the same height as the outside ones.
Usually, it’s not really necessary, since the 12-1 gage electric wire used in the suspension system is very rigid and helps tremendously to stabilize the columns.
