@bionicmel, Very nice article. I saw one comment on your article and thought the folks here would like to check out her web site. http://www.verticalveggiefarms.com
Great article. I also find the window farm soothing. I love working on the project.
@ajinil Yes Ursula is doing something similar to window farms. Instead of vertical columns she is doing rows with the end bottle serving as a reservoir for the row. For the nutrients she uses a siphon/ vaccum system to maintain water level in all the bottles.
I met her at FoodStock 2011 here in Calgary, and I was SO EXCITED to see a windowfarm-like setup there!
I think when your article is both interesting and informative and I love the idea of listing the advantages and disadvantages. Thanks. It will inspire me when I’ll need to explain windowfarming to parents from my school.
@louisefromquebec That was only part of my list!! I started off with a brainstorm and I had way more advantages written down, but I’m saving them for an article on hydroponics specifically. If you need more ideas on explaining this whole project I’d love to help!!
Thanks for the feed back, I’m glad this article can be useful.
