Entropealabs: Automated Garden
2:01 pm in Projects in Process by Chris
Hey guys, been following you for a while, but just signed up to the site.
I’ve been working on an automated gardening system, an ebb & flow hydroponics system. It also uses a few sensors and the Make Controller to supplement the natural light. You can check out it’s live page here. http://entropealab.mine.nu:8080 I’ve also been logging pictures every 10 minutes for the past few weeks. You can check the time-lapse out here. http://entropealab.mine.nu:8080/closeup and http://entropealab.mine.nu:8080/wide … they load pretty slow.
I’m giving a talk on window gardening on May Day and will definitely be mentioning you guys. I’m also going to try to build one of your systems very soon.
Keep up the great work!

We’d love to see the page, but it seems the link is broken!
Hey, a little late to the party. I had taken it offline. The UV light burnt out and the roots got a little crazy.
I put it back up, you can check it out now, the time-lapse is probably the most interesting thing up now.
Your sensors don’t appear to be recording correct data for the month of Aug..
Watching the plants in the timelapse is pretty cool – they look like they are dancing..
yeah, it was offline for most of August. read original post.
It’s back up now, just to show you guys.
I submitted the post over 2 months ago, when it was in full swing, however someone just got around to posting it today.
Must have just been approved today or something…weird…
Is that on a home-hosted server?
A lot of people that are behind restrictive firewalls or have to use proxies won’t be able to see pages on port 8080.
it is.
I have apache running on port 80 and about 5 other servers running on various other ports. 8080 is the best your going to get. I’m not to worried about main stream. The web cams are even a more random port.
