Pumice as a grow medium

I bought a big bag of “premium organic pumice” to use as my grow medium because it was only $4.00 for a 4-quart bag.
It’s working just fine so far but I definitely would NOT recommend it to others. Smaller pieces fall through the net pots, it has a lot of dust that settles in the resorvior, and is just generally annoying.
I’m not sure what affect it has on the pH of the water, if any, but my advice is spend the extra few dollars and go for LECA/hydroton or glass beads.

Hydroton works really well. Wash it well because the clay will cycle through the system and create clogs.
