Hello and container suggestion?

Hi Folks,
Ryan here, new in Window Farmer town.
This community caught my eye because I am a beginner urban gardener and also a consumer of a large amount of these type of containers:

It is my intention to attempt to build a window garden to keep them out of landfill as the place where I’m living at the moment doesn’t have a recycling program for them. I suggest that they might be an improved container for the Window Farmer system as they would not require seperate root covering. The downside is they are not as pretty and minimalist looking as clear water bottles!
Hope everyone is having success with their projects, and I look forward to sharing knowledge with you all.
Ryan-
I love it that you are using containers that you personally consume on a regular basis. Awesome. Totally in keeping with the spirit.
Happy to contribute a suggestion or two. I would attach a tube to the spout of each bottle and cut a circular hole in the container below so that you can feed this tube through to the plant below.
I would also cut a 45 degree split mirrored on both sides of the container so that you can flip the bottom portion of the back of the container down into the interior and thereby create a “floor” for the net cup to sit in. Maybe even give it a tab and create a matching slit in the front of the container to hold the floor in place.
As far as decorating them is concerned, paint? markers? Are there any soybased paints? That would be hilarious.
But let us see what you come up with. Can’t wait!

This comment is a bit late for this person but if anyone else comes across this post, just a couple of comments.
The main issue with using a container line this is its layer paper. Once you break the seal, those edges will begin to deteriorate.

You would have to reseal the edges, maybe with some hot glue or something.
It would probably make a good alternative to the paint recommended in the basic window farm builds. You could put the plastic bottle inside this container to block the roots from drying out.
