Using a drip system with hoses with drippers built in Found at Home Depot and most hardware/nurseries.

One could put a earthworm in with each one to increase fertility.

this system could be used on shelves in a window but you would need something under to cach drips such as aluminum pie tins or bread loaf pans. And it could be done indoor under a plant light too.

I see their system as a bare basics system to be built on.
